Basic Information

Our chinnies are all very special to us. Please understand if we have questions for you if you are interested in adopting one of our chins. We want to make sure that our chins all go to good homes, and will receive the proper care and attention. We do ask that anyone under the age of 18 provide parental approval before adopting.

PLEASE NOTE
As members of MCBA, we are required to have a written agreement for all adoptions. We will send you a copy of this agreement by e-mail when you decide to adopt a chin, and it is signed when the chinchilla is delivered.

A nonrefundable deposit of twenty-five dollars is required to hold a chinchilla. (This is subtracted from the total price, it is not in addition to it.)

Our chinnies all go home with a supply of pellets, hay, apple wafers, treats, dust bath, and a care and information packet. If you adopt a baby, we will start using the name you give it, and can, if desired, send photos as it grows. If for any reason you are ever unable to keep your chinchilla and can not find a good home for it, please bring it back to us. We will either keep it, or find it another good home.

We are now pleased to be able to offer new chinnie parents a free one year membership in The Chinchilla Club. This is a wonderful source of information with a bi-monthly online magazine, photos, message boards, contests, and special offers from suppliers. We are now also able to offer cages for sale-please see the page on Food & Supplies.

We can have all colors except for sapphire, however since we are small hobbyists, not all colors are available at all times. We may not always have babies available, but will be happy to put you on a list and contact you when litters arrive.

PLEASE NOTE: WE DO NOT SHIP chins at this time. We will drive up to 4 hours to meet someone for a small gas fee, and we also have had friends of new owners that were coming through town pick up chins and deliver them. In the rare instance that you are a known shipper with an airline that serves Lincoln, and can arrange a direct flight, we would be willing to discuss shipping with you.

We are available at any time for questions you may have, whether or not you adopt from us. We always enjoy hearing from other chinnie parents! If you do not adopt from us, but would like a copy of the information we send home with our new chinnie parents, send us an e-mail and we will be glad to send you a copy.

Rescue Chins
We are a part of a chinchilla rescue program, and sometimes have chinchillas available that people need to find a new home for. We will post these on our site. To date we have placed 4 rescue chins in great new homes.
